Ueda Sake Brewery was founded in 1558 in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture. This traditional sake brewery, with a history spanning over 400 years, uses soft underground water of Ikoma and high-quality domestic rice to craft premium sake in a region of Japan known as the birthplace of sake. Ueda Brewery is also participating in the Bodai Moto Revival Project, a moto, or yeast starter, that’s been in use since the Muromachi Period (1336-1573). Drawing on the wisdom of our ancestors, we blend tradition with innovation to create a diverse range of sake. We are committed to preserving this heritage for future generations.
