Maizuru Brick Park - Curator-accompanied tour that highlights Japan's jolting modernization era in Maizuru
Japan's oldest steel-framed brick building and the only brick-focused museum in the world, the Maizuru Brick Park is based out of a former Maizuru Navy torpedo warehouse built in 1903. In addition to the history of brick use in Japan, the museum exhibits a variety of bricks that were used in famous brick structures around the world, and a veteran curator is on hand to explain Maizuru's path to modernization.
