Kokyuan in Kitamikunigaoka is a high-end sponge cake bakery and Japanese confectionery shop that also houses a tea room, tea ceremony room and hall. From the historic town of Sakai, we offer sweets that bring dreams to life. Our bakery blends well with its surroundings yet also stands out. Here you can enjoy watching us carefully bake the finest sponge cake. You can also relax as you taste newer styles of Japanese sweets with tea.

In Sakai, the birthplace of Sen no Rikyu, we have, for the first time in four centuries, rebuilt the Onari Tea Room, one of his tea rooms that greatly influenced future generations.
At the Rikyu Tea House, you can enjoy a relaxing space with friends and family while gazing at the Japanese garden and tea room.
