Ninjutsu emerged from a fusion of wide-ranging knowledge, skills and the nature of Iga. In Iga, there are more than 650 mountain castles dotted along the landscape. The Iga ninja, who were also local lords, used these castles as bases. They honed their ninjutsu skills through repeated attacks and defenses. In Iga City, Ishikawa Ward, known as the birthplace of real-life ninja Ishikawa Goemon, you can enjoy an authentic ninja experience at a genuine mountain castle. There you'll get an easy-to-understand briefing and an authentic ninja experience. Your guide will be a master ninja from the Japan Ninja Council who holds a PhD in ninjutsu studies. He is also a business owner working in agriculture, forestry, and eco-lodge management in Ishikawa ward, as well as running a ninjutsu dojo and working as a disaster prevention consultant. In the first half of the experience, we will start inside the dojo with a lecture on the link between the natural environment and ninjutsu. We will then have ninjutsu training. For safety reasons, this will be at a basic level. After that, we will offer a Japanese meal at the lodging facility using locally grown organic rice, vegetables, and well water. Ninja tea included. After lunch, we will have a ninjutsu skills experience at the mountain castle. Lastly, we will hand out certificates of completion. Come enjoy a truly authentic experience that cannot be found anywhere else.
