The Tango area is said to be the birthplace of rice cultivation. Abundant underground water from the Mount Oe mountain range, home of the Shuten Doji demon legend, makes the land here ideal for rice growing and sake brewing. During the tour, company president Shiro Nishihara, the sixth generation of a family of brewers, will explain how sake is made using local rice grown within 80 meters of the brewery and abundant underground water. (*Rice from other areas of Kyoto Prefecture is also used.) Is Mr Nishihara really descended from the demon of Mount Oe? Find out during the tour! Enjoy the rustic atmosphere of the brewery, which is completely different from the large sake breweries in the city. This experience will allow you to sample around five of Yosamusume's sakes.
