A guided tour of Horyuji Temple, the oldest wooden building in the world, complete with local specialties. The historic buildings, some of which are over 1400 years old, include 38 buildings and 150 items designated as national treasures, and around 3,000 items designated as important cultural properties. An expert guide will explain the highlights in an easy to understand manner, including the fascinating structure and style of the buildings, pagodas, and Buddhist statues in this huge complex spanning an area of about 187,000 square meters. After the tour, satisfy your taste for history and food by enjoying either a lunch showcasing tatsuta-age (fried chicken), a specialty dish that originated in Ikaruga, or a WEST NARA Premium Shaved Ice featuring local fruits and specialty products, created by JAL international first class in-flight pastry chefs.
