Nara Kotsu's regular sightseeing buses are led by knowledgeable bus guides who will show you around and provide information on temples and tourist attractions. You can easily enjoy a trip, even if traveling alone. The first stop on this course is Omiwa Shrine, a location considered to be the oldest Shinto Shrine in Japan and recently popularized as a power spot. Afterward, it stops at an Ishibutai said to be the grave site of Soga no Umako. Then, it goes on to Asuka-dera Temple, said to be the oldest Buddhist temple in Japan and built by the resolution of Soga no Umako. Moreover, it moves on to Tachibana-dera Temple said to have been built at the birthplace of Prince Shotoku. There is also the Four Divine Creatures Hall, where there is a replica of the "Kitora Mural Paintings National Treasure" on display. This bus will take you on a day trip around Asuka, the mysterious ancient capital.
