Akashi Sake Brewery

Akashi Sake Brewery

Akashi Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. was established in Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1917. Akashi is located near the Akashi Strait, which has rich fishing grounds to the south and the sake rice producing regions to the north. Our most well-known brand of sake is Akashi Tai. Akashi has developed a unique strategy by prioritizing the cultivation of relationships with local business partners and consistently achieving successful outcomes. As a result, 95% of sales are generated overseas, with the remaining 5% concentrated in the local Akashi area. Driven by unwavering faith and a bold commitment to embracing constant flexibility, Akashi Sake Brewery founded the Kaikyo Distillery in 2017. While honoring tradition, the company is also championing the creation of new Japanese whisky and craft gin that harness the unique attributes of Akashi while reflecting Japan's identity. Since its inception, they’ve created products such as Hatozaki Whisky and Hyogo Dry Gin 135° East.
