Kiku-Masamune Sake was founded in 1659 in Mikage, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. We have flourished by leveraging a sake brewing system conducive to mass production at its strategic location in Nadahama, an area easily accessible by ships. This growth was further facilitated by transporting sake downstream in barrel boats. We've maintained the use of the natural kimoto method, employing a traditional sake yeast starter, and brewed with mineral-rich hard water sourced from the Rokko Mountains. This process results in a light and dry sake. The sake brewing process at Kiku-Masamune involves dedicated barrel craftsmen, manual filling, and precise judgment from experienced craftsmen in a process unique to our brewery. At the Kikumasamune Sake Brewery Museum, you can immerse yourself in the centuries-old passion for sake brewing. Explore the Taruzake Meister Factory, where dedicated barrel craftsmen create taruzake, and the Sake and Sake Ware Exhibition Hall, showcasing the interplay between sake and sake ware. There are a range of activities offered in multiple languages.
