In Hozu-cho, Kameoka, Kyoto, they're bringing back a beautiful art cut short in 1923 through new TV, newspaper, magazine, radio, and other appearances under the Kyoto Hozuai brand. Learn an artisanal skill directly from the artisans and get some hands-on experience with the original dyeing techniques. Instructors will provide thorough guidance on the dyeing process and design techniques, so even those without any experience can feel free to jump right in. There are several types of squeezing methods used in dyeing, including ball squeezing, pinch squeezing, and cord squeezing.
