The moss phlox, plum blossoms, and the early summer fireflies dancing along the Kawata River, together with the illuminated stone walls of Takagai, offer a fantastical sight. Operating a plum wine brewery in this area, Obatake Shuzo produces a popular original plum wine using locally cultivated plums certified under the Tokushima Anan GAP Agricultural Produce program. The friendly Sugitomo couple will welcome you for a tasting session and a bento lunch with a view of the mountain scenery, sure to be a soothing experience. You will also create your own original plum wine to take home as a souvenir.
