Traditional Japanese Knife Sharpening and Assembling Experience
Experience making authentic Japanese kitchen knives in Sakai, the city of knives, and put them to use in your own home. Participants will be making Santoku knives, which are easy-to-handle knives for everyday use. The activity will also cover sharpening knives, so you will be able to do your own maintenance. They say that 90% of chefs use Japanese kitchen knives from Sakai. After participating in this activity you will be able to do the same when you cook in your own home.* For the activity, you can choose between a deba knife, a sashimi knife, a Santoku knife, and a petty knife.
