This is a tour to enjoy a 1-hour cruise on a sightseeing boat departing from Wakasa Fisherman's Wharf to visit the "Sotomo" in Wakasa Bay Quasi-National Park. Sotomo is a natural wonder of Japan, with a 6-kilometer-long cliff face carved by the rough waves of the Japan Sea. The area is home to a variety of dramatic sights, including rock formations, cave entrances, caves and sea stacks. It was designated a national scenic spot in 1934. Sotomo was also selected as one of the “31 most beautiful places in Japan” by CNN in 2015. Sotomo is a long-standing scenic spot that was praised for its beauty in the Edo period geography book “Wakasa Kokushi.” Some of the most popular viewpoints include “Omon and Komon” (the Big Gate and Little Gate), “Karafunejima,” “Meotokameiwa,” and “Shiraitonotaki.” You can fully enjoy the pleasure of a cruise along with the sea art created by the crashing waves.
