A traditional restaurant built using a renovated 250-year-old merchant house, designated as part of an important group of traditional buildings by the Japanese government, on “Shinmachidori.” Our menu features about 40 kinds of vegetables, including traditional and heirloom varieties picked in the morning in the fields of Gojo, as well as new varieties. Under a “vegetable gastronomic” theme of eating vegetables with vegetables, Head Chef Akihito Nakatani established this new type of restaurant that doesn’t serve meat, fish, chicken or eggs. The menu is prepared on the spot in accordance with guests’ drinks and their physical condition that day, in collaboration with Gojo Vegetable Gastronomy Fields. Received one star in the ‘17 Michelin Guide Nara edition and was listed in the 2022 Michelin Guide Nara. With the slogan “From the world to Gojo,” the localism experience course allows you to experience a special time in a historical townscape that retains the traditional landscape of Japan.
