The restaurant is famous for its "Betayaki," a dish that has been popular in downtown Kyoto from before, and is visited by locals, tourists, and celebrities alike.
Betayaki is so-called "Kyoto-style okonomiyaki," in which the batter is spread thinly like a crepe, and cabbage and other ingredients are piled on top and baked.
In the Arata' style of Betayaki, you can choose either soba or udon noodles as the ingredients. The specialty is "Arata's Okonomiyaki," Betayaki topped with stir-fried beef jaw meat in a homemade sauce. The topping is accented with a generous amount of kujo-negi (leeks).
The restaurant also offers a wide variety of teppan-yaki dishes, including Horumon-yaki (grilled offal) such as Sujiyaki and Tetchan-yaki. Be sure to enjoy them with sake.
The homemade sweet and spicy sauce used for Horumon-yaki and other dishes is also available for sale, making it a must-have souvenir.
