Gyugin Honten
Gyugin Honten is located in Uomachi, where samurai residences and the mansions of wealthy merchants still remain, preserving the atmosphere of the castle town of Matsusaka. This long-established restaurant, with a history of 120 years since its establishment in 1902, is a two-story wooden building of stately Japanese architecture built in the early Showa period. It is a famous restaurant specializing in Matsusaka beef, one of Japan's three great cuts of beef and known as "Niku no Shiho(the treasure of meat)."
Only carefully selected Matsusaka beef (meat), including specialty Matsusaka beef (meat), is served here. The sukiyaki is made from marbled Matsuzaka beef, which has a beautiful "Sashi" (marbling) in the shape of a net and is prepared in front of you by a dedicated waitress, who serves it on a small plate with perfect timing. The meat's rich flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture will bring happiness to your mouth the moment you take a bite.
Other dishes such as mizutaki (Shabu-Shabu beef hot pot) and amiyaki (grilled fillet of Matsusaka beef) allow diners to enjoy Matsusaka beef, a world-class brand of meat, to their heart's content.
