Restaurant Al Mare
This beautiful Italian restaurant is located on the coast of Iwami-cho, a northeastern most town in Tottori Prefecture, where the area has been designated as a San'in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark. The local nursery school building was turned into a beautiful restaurant with a large open dining hall accommodating 36 diners and allowing a sea view from every table. The garden is designed in the Mediterranean style. The whole setting offers a resort vacation feeling and an escape from daily life.
Their dishes are all made with fresh ingredients of that particular season. The chefs create authentic Italian dishes, including Matsuba Crab, the largest catch in Japan in this area. They prepare as well other dishes with fresh seafood caught in Iwami-cho, along with tasty vegetable produced by local farmers. Occasionally, you can find rare shrimp, mosa ebi, in the menu which can be eaten only locally because of its quick loss of freshness. They also stock various wines from the Tottori region. You’ll for sure enjoy the great combination of authentic dishes and fine wine.
