In China, where festivals are held in accordance with the old lunisolar calendar, Shunsetsu (Chinese New Year) is celebrated on a grand scale. During this lively period in China, firecrackers boom and the requisite dragon and lion dances are performed. In Nankin-machi, a festival modeled after Shunsetsu is held.
