【Description】
Although the water is as deep as one meter in places, people have cultivated rice in this wetland. The terrain makes the use of agricultural machinery impossible. The back-breaking work of growing rice here thus earned the area the moniker "the wife-killing fields," as women have traditionally worked the rice paddies. In 2005, a typhoon flooded the area, after which the city bought up the land and turned it into a wetland park.
