【Description】
The Kudokawa River, whose headwaters come from 650-meter-high Mt. Kudo, flows through this valley. Along its course you can see how the Sea of Japan's formation has affected valley and its terrain. The scenery also includes mountain villages. The valley is an enjoyable place to walk on the mountain slopes and through the forested valley. Smiths on the upper reaches of the river used to operate modern "tatara" furnaces, which you can view at the Hontani Yakio Seitetsu Historical Site.
