There are several highlights at this sub-temple of Myoshin-ji, Japan's largest Zen temple. Visitors can see the Hyonen-zu, a national treasure that is a painting of a man catching Japanese catfish with a gourd (replica). There's also the rock garden, a historic place of scenic beauty, called Motonobu-no-Niwa. Another garden, this one with a pond, is Yoko-en, which displays beautiful colors of a different kind in each season.
