Ama no Iwato
According to legend, Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess in the indigenous Japanese religion of Shinto, secluded herself in this cave in reaction to the evil deeds of her brother Susano'o. The clear water that flows out from between the stones is recognized as one of the 100 great waters of Japan.
