Kirishima azalea: From late April to early May, the approach to the shrine is covered in dark red of 150 year old azaleas.

Cherry blossoms: Path along east bank of Nagaoka Tenmangu Hachijogaike pond is overarched by cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms reflected in the pond produces fantastic scenery.
