A stunning cycling route offering fantastic views of Wakasa Bay on the Japan Sea
The Mikata Five Lakes, northwest of Lake Biwa, are not far from Wakasa Bay on the Japan Sea. Circling these lakes is a popular Kansai cycling course, which takes keen cyclists through parts of Mihama Town and Wakasa Town. The route also passes through Wakasa Wan Quasi-National Park, and thus offers magnificent views throughout.
