【Description】
The Kita Tango Earthquake struck on March 7, 1927 with a magnitude of 7.3. The event created a fault running north-to-south for roughly 18 km. The Japanese government has designated three sites along the fault--in Higuchi, Koike and Ikunouchi--as natural monuments where the shifted earth has been kept in place.
