This small village in Miyama is home to numerous traditional thatched-roof houses. In the north of the settlement, 39 of the 50 homes are thatched, and the area has been designated an important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings by the Japanese government. The English-language tours hosted by local tour guides are a popular attraction.
