Cape Kamoda is Shikoku’s easternmost point. Surrounded by a vast expanse of sea, it is also where the sunrise can first be seen on the island. On clear days, you can see as far as Wakayama’s Cape Hinomisaki, the Onaruto Bridge, and Awaji Island. The beach on the north side of the cape is well-known as an egg-laying ground for loggerhead turtles.
