Saifuku-ji Temple
Saifuku-ji Temple was founded by Ryonyo Shonin, and is affiliated with the Chinzei School of the Pure Land sect of Buddhism. The main buildings, including the sect founder's hall, the hall of the celestial buddha Amitabha and the study hall, are important cultural properties of Japan. Meanwhile, the Japanese government has designed the study hall garden, which covers over 4,500 square meters, as a place of scenic beauty. The garden was built in the middle of the Edo period (1603-1867). Its serene, elegant beauty throughout the year represents the paradise known as the Pure Land.
