Chikubushima Island
Chikubushima, just offshore from Nagahama City, is the second largest island on Lake Biwa, Japan’s largest lake. It measures around two kilometers in circumference, with an area of just 400 meters squared, and has been revered by locals since ancient times. Covered entirely with lush trees, the island puts on a magnificent display in each of the seasons. It is known for its mysterious atmosphere and as a powerful scenic spot.
