Mt. Ibuki is the highest peak in Shiga Prefecture and one of the One Hundred Mountains of Japan. The mountain sits on the border between Shiga and Gifu prefectures, and from the top visitors can take in panoramic views of Lake Biwa, the Hira and Hiei mountains, the Japan Alps, and even Ise Bay. The flower fields on top of the mountain have been designated as a national natural monument.
