Eigen-ji Temple is the head of the Eigen-ji school of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism. To the right of the stone-paved temple approach is the Echi River, while on the stone wall to the left are stone statues of the sixteen arhats. The entire approach is surrounded by maple trees which add to the temple’s beauty in autumn.
