Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine
Located at the foot of Mt. Hiei, Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine is said to have been established around 2,100 years ago in the 7th year of Emperor Sujin’s reign. It is the head shrine of around 3,800 Hiyoshi, Hie and Sanno shrines across Japan. It is also one of Kansai’s most popular spots for viewing autumn leaves, while the shrine’s early-summer greenery is also a sight to behold.
