Saikyo-ji Temple
Saikyo-ji Temple is said to have first been built by Prince Shotoku for his former teachers Eji and Eso, two priests from Korea. It fell into ruin for a long time after, but was later restored by the high priest Ryogen, who used it for ascetic training. The priest Eshin Sozu also entered the temple for ascetic training, and from then on the temple began to flourish. It is now the head of more than 450 branch temples across Japan, and the head temple of the Tendai Shinsei sect of Buddhism.
