Meet up with your guide at Kinoseki-onsen Station and take a walk around the Kinoseki-onsen township before making your way to the inspiring rock gardens of Gokurakuji Temple. The Temple itself is in a hidden part of town making for a tranquil area to practice meditation and chat freely with the Buddhist priest. It is a special place where you can experience both traditional and modern Japan.
Participants can experience seated zazen meditation and Japanese culture in a Zen temple that is one of Kinosaki's best-kept secrets, with guidance available in English. After taking part in the meditation and enjoying green tea at the temple, which is also home to a famous Japanese rock garden, participants can have lunch with children from the attached nursery school if they wish.
