The Kobe Fashion Museum opened as Japan’s first fashion-themed public museum in 1997. As well as special art exhibitions, the museum also hosts “collection exhibits” that showcase its diverse collection of clothing and accessories from 18th-century Rococo to the modern day. On the third floor is a library with around 40,000 fashion-related magazines and books from both Japan and abroad that visitors can enter for free.
