Savor the taste and the traditional technique of Tenobe somen—Somen-no-Sato Ibonoito Museum, The Home of Somen

Originally manufactured from the finest-quality flour, water, and salt, the production of Tenobe somen (thin noodles), known as ""Ibonoito,"" is an outstanding work of the most skilled culinary artists. In Ibonoito Museum, ""The Home of Somen,"" visitors can learn about the history of somen from the Edo period, as well as the manufacturing processes involved in the making of this humble delicacy. Authentic seasonal somen dishes are available for tasting all year round, and in spring and autumn visitors can try catching the slippery strands of nagashi-somen (flowing somen) with chopsticks as they float past in a green bamboo gutter. Harder than it looks, but delicious!
