[Walk one of the top three mountains in Japan]
Mt. Daisen's highest peak, Misen, stands at 1,709 meters above sea level, and is the highest peak in the Chugoku region. The mountain itself was selected among the top three mountains in Japan, and offers the best of nature in every season: verdant greens in spring and summer, crimson leaves in autumn, and snow in the winter. Beginner hikers can take the Natsuyama Course to see fields of Daisen Japanese Yew, a designated natural monument of Japan, as well as one of West Japan's largest Japanese beech forests.
