Silk shop of the Japanese maximum level. By the national policy of the Meiji government official announcement, the first government management model instrument silk mill "Tomioka silk manufacture place" was built on the background of Tomioka-shi, Gumma in Japan in Meiji 5 (1872). The large-scale textiles company was revived in Meiji 29 in order to produce the high silk textiles of added value by a national policy also in Kyoto. This is the present Tango silk crape history hall. It is the silk factory which exported quality silk white cloth to the dye works around north Italy and Milan those days, applied in early stages of Meiji, Taisho, and Showa, and contributed to acquisition of foreign currency of Japan.
