[Activity and culture of marchants in Edo era/ history of Kawachi cotton]
In Edo era, Osaka was the trade center of nation, and there were many storehouses in Nakanoshima area in Osaka. Concentration of wealth nurchured culture such as drawings. Propagation of culture also happend from Osaka to all over Japan, because it was a distribution hub in Japan. As Osaka prospered with its market, agricultural products in the neighboring regions also flourished. One of them was the cultivation of cotton in Kawachi region, which lies in the east part of Osaka. The museum exibits historical materials such as tools of commercial activity in Edo era and firm equipment for cotton.
