Shikano Castle Town

The feudal lord Kamei Korenori controlled this castle town from in 1581. The remnants of the old town districts are still visible today and include the samurai residence quarters, upper and lower merchant districts, and the craftworker district. Wooden townhouses styled after the machiya of Kyoto offer a glimpse into the town's ancient past.
