Tottori Toshogu Shrine
Lord of Tottori Domain Ikeda Mitsunaka submitted a request to the shogunate in 1650 to found this shrine and share in housing the spirit of the great shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, who was already enshrined at Nikko Toshogu Shrine. The shrine has undergone several changes in name. It was originally Inaba Toshogu Shrine (the area was once part of Inaba Province), then changed to Ochida Shrine in 1894, and then its current name in 2012.
