We welcome you with pure rice sake made from pure local ingredients - S.IMANISHI Co., Ltd.
One of the ancient capitals of Japan, Nara City is a famous tourist destination with many UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Todaiji Temple and Gangoji Temple. The S.IMANISHI Brewery, established during the Meiji Period in 1884, sits in the Naramachi neighborhood, an area with several traditional warehouses and residences nestled between temples and shrines. Their sake brand name, Harushika (春鹿), is a combination of the Chinese characters for Kasuga Grand Shrine (春日大社) and the Japanese word for deer (shika 鹿), which were considered sacred animals. Upon purchasing an original glass decorated with a deer, visitors can taste test five types of seasonal Harushika sake, all brewed in Nara.
