[Famous for the maiden silvergrass that covers the area in autumn]
Located in the Muro-Akame-Aoyama National Park, the Soni Plateau stretches across the western edge of Mt. Kuroso (1038 meters) and Mt. Kameyama (849 meters). After a controlled burn of the plateau in the spring, the area around the Okame pond is covered in silvergrass in autumn. The area is popular with trekkers in the region.
[Access] Mie Kotsu bus bound for Yamagasunishi from Kintetsu Nabari Stn to the Taroji bus stop (about 40 min), then 1 hr on foot
*During October and November, a bus bound for Soni Kogen will be in service.
