Mt. Yoshino is known as the best place to appreciate cherry blossoms in the spring. This area is the northern starting point of Omineokugake-michi (pilgrimage route), and was registered as World Heritage site in 2004 along with other cultural assets such as Zao Hall in Kinpusenji Temple and Yoshimizu Shrine.
