Built at the order of Emperor Daigo between the year 901 and 923, this temple sits halfway up Mt. Yoshino. The structures of the complex are surrounded by cherry blossoms in the spring, lush greenery in summer, Japanese maple in autumn, and snow in the winter, making it the perfect temple for every season.
