The temples grounds feature several National Treasures including Nigatsudo, Shoro (bell tower), Nandaimon (main south gate), and the Kondo (Great Buddha Hall), which houses the famous Daibutsu (Great Buddha) of Nara. In December of 1998, the temple was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara.
