The wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Nene, had this temple built in 1606 to mourn his passing. In addition to the temple’s gardens, which are a national scenic spot, the temple also boasts numerous cultural properties, such as the tea room and the temple halls. The magnificent gold lacquer work on Nene’s mausoleum is a must-see.
