Mikatagoko Rainbow Line
There are five lakes here: Mikata, Suigetsu, Suga, Kugushi and Hiruga. The water quality (measured by salt concentration) and depth of each is different, creating subtle variations in color on the surface. Thus, they have always been said to have a fantastical quality. The Rainbow Line is a toll road that tours these five lakes, while a chair lift can take visitors to Summit Park where five terraces offer stunning panoramic views of the five lakes and the Sea of Japan.
