The Gotobiki-iwa Rock of Mt. Kamikurasan

This is a huge rock of granite porphyry that has been weathered into a shape of a toad. Rocks like this that had weathered into round shapes are called “core stones”. The Gotobiki-iwa Rock is the main deity of the Kumano Oto Festival.
