The waterfall of Nachi falls on the boundary of granite porphyry of Kumano acidic rocks that are resistant to erosions and the stratum of the Kumano strata which are softer in comparison. Further into the mountains, there are more waterfalls that are called the Nachi Shijuuhachi-taki (the 48 waterfalls of Nachi).
